We have an urgent problem in a CERNAVODA NPP system.
It is a closed loop water network, pumped by a Pump Station with up to 4 equal pumps in parallel. The operating conditions of each pump are flow= 1.56 m3/s (speed 3.18 m/s) and head=55 m (5.4 bar). The system must be able to operate with 4, 3 or 2 pumps contemporaneously, depending on the utilities needs. THE PROBLEM LIES ON THE SWING CHECK VALVE DOWNSTREAM THE PUMPS installed to prevent backflow: each time one pump is tripped for maintainace
